🗳 Huntsville City Council Race Is Heating Up

Mark your calendars. Huntsville's municipal election is set for Tuesday, August 25, with three City Council seats on the ballot drawing challengers.

In District 2, incumbent David Little faces Thomas Casez. District 3 turns into a three-way race, with incumbent Council President Jennie Robinson up against Liliana Peinder and John Stuart. And in District 4, incumbent Bill Kling will square off with Nick Frevold and Will Pylant.

Three Huntsville City Schools Board of Education seats are also on the ballot, with two of three drawing challengers. District 4 incumbent Ryan Renaud is running unopposed.

Mayor Battle and Districts 1 and 5 won't be up until 2028, but with every other seat on the ballot in play, this election will help shape Huntsville's next four years.

🍦 Big Spoon Creamery Named Best Ice Cream In Alabama

Sweet news for Huntsville. Tasting Table just named Big Spoon Creamery the best ice cream shop in the state!

The Birmingham-born creamery is known for rotating, inventive flavors that blend the classic with the unexpected, and the Huntsville shop has become one of my families favorites!

You can find them in downtown Huntsville at 201 Jefferson Street North Suite J. Be sure to try the Salted Honey Blackberry and the Harvest Farm Strawberry!

You can find the full menu here.

🏆 The Orion Just Cracked the Top 10 Amphitheaters in the World

The Orion Amphitheater just earned its highest-ever Pollstar midyear ranking, landing at #8 worldwide in gross ticket sales and #10 in total tickets sold.

That puts the 8,000-seat venue in the global top 10 on both lists, the strongest showing it's posted since opening in 2022.

The midyear Pollstar rankings cover concerts from mid-November 2025 through mid-May 2026, and with a full slate of concerts and festivals still to come this year, The Orion isn't slowing down.
