Goodbye Horses, a softly lit café and bar tucked just off Johnson Road, is planning a March opening in Huntsville.

The low-key concept is expected to serve craft coffee, cocktails, cold beer, and small plates, creating a relaxed space that transitions easily from day to night. The team behind it has kept details intentionally close to the chest, teasing the concept through a simple “coming soon” website and a subtle Instagram presence.

A new neighborhood lunch spot is coming to South Huntsville, with Storia Deli and Café set to open on Bailey Cove Road later this year.

The café plans to serve sandwiches, custom salads, pizza, baked goods, and other favorites, all centered around an Italian-inspired menu featuring more than 20 house-made deli salads.

Guests can also expect gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Coffee lovers have even more to look forward to, as Storia will introduce Alabama’s first Lavazza Coffee Shop!

North Alabama is mourning the loss of blues legend and music educator Microwave Dave Gallaher, who passed away this weekend at age 80.

Through Microwave Dave and the Nukes and his radio show Talkin’ the Blues, he helped shape Huntsville’s musical identity while making the genre accessible to all. His impact extended beyond the stage, as he spent decades mentoring students and sharing the power of music.

Tributes from across the community have highlighted his kindness, humility, and lasting influence. Gallaher’s legacy will live on through his music and the generations he inspired.
