🎖️ Huntsville Approves Expansion of Military Museum
Huntsville has approved a nearly $10 million expansion of the Military Museum at John Hunt Park.
The project will add a new building with offices, a conference room, and visitor amenities, while also updating the current facility. Once complete, visitors can explore an expanded space dedicated to preserving military history, honoring veterans and their families, and offering new opportunities for learning.
Construction is expected to take just over a year to finish.
🎻 Fiddlers Convention Returns to Athens
The 58th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention returns to Athens State University this Wednesday–Saturday.
More than 200 contestants will compete for the title of Alabama State Fiddle Champion, with headlining performances by Jimmy Fortune, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and Pitney Meyer. A free gospel concert opens the week, followed by days of nonstop bluegrass and old-time tunes.
Beyond the stage, browse the arts and crafts fair showcasing handmade creations from local vendors. It’s a fall tradition filled with music, community, and toe-tapping fun!
