How to Spend Labor Day Weekend in Huntsville
The long weekend is here, and it’s finally time to relax! There are a couple of fun things going on this weekend, so I thought I’d highlight a few.
Caribbean Day at John Hunt Park
This free event offers a chance to immerse yourself in Caribbean culture! There will be authentic Caribbean food, music, dance, and arts.
Rocket City Mimosa Fest at The Camp
Grab your friends and head to The Camp for a variety of mimosas alongside 10 Huntsville-based DJs, local vendors, and delicious brunch bites.
Jazz in the Park
This two-night event is perfect for those who want to get outside and enjoy the smooth sounds of jazz. It’s completely free and is a great way to relax and spend time with friends or family.
If none of these options sounds fun, we have a few more on our website. And for those who want to stay home and watch college football, I don’t blame you!
Taking Flight
The Botanical Gardens Festifall Has Arrived
Festifall at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens is here! It’s a two-month celebration with pumpkins, scarecrows, campouts, nature hikes, and more.
I’d highly suggest checking out the Scarecrow Trail. It’s fun for the whole family, and this year’s theme is fairy tales!
The Huntsville Music Office Is Kicking Off Music Month With A School Instrument Drive
To celebrate Huntsville Music Month, the music office is collecting used instruments from September 1 to 30. The goal is to put instruments into the hands of more students. You can find the list of drop-off locations here.
The New Huntsville Transit Center Opens Next Week
City leaders gathered Thursday to cut the ribbon on the new downtown Transit Center. The new facility is home to 14 bus bays and is fully ADA-accessible.
The center officially opens on Tuesday, September 3, and the city is celebrating by giving free rides for the month of September.
