Happy Tuesday!
I hope everyone stayed dry during a rainy Memorial Day Weekend!
We hunkered down for the most part, but did get to spend some time celebrating with our family on Monday afternoon!
Let’s get to it!

🎶 Perseus Sound Bar Opens in MidCity
If you love good music and a great cocktail, we have a new spot for you. Perseus Sound Bar has officially opened at MidCity, bringing the Rocket City its first vinyl bar.
Tucked inside Anthem House, the lounge blends a mid-century modern, Mediterranean-inspired setting with a serious soundtrack and a rotating seasonal menu. DJs are set to spin records several nights a week once it's fully open.
For now, Perseus is easing in with soft-opening café hours, Thursday through Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM. Stop by at 6024 Stax St NW and give it a listen!
🛶 Ditto Landing Lands $5,000 Grant for a New Kayak Launch
If you've been looking for an easier way to get out on the Tennessee River, Ditto Landing just got a boost. The South Huntsville park was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Alabama Scenic River Trail to add a new kayak launch.
Ditto Landing was one of seven groups across the state chosen for the trail's Waterway Enhancement Program, which supports access to local waterways. The funding will go toward a dedicated launch at East Harbor.
The new launch should be ready in the coming months, just in time for a summer of paddling.
🚧 Big Spring Park Expansion Brings Lane Closures to Church Street
If you’re planning to head downtown this summer, Big Spring Park's expansion is about to cause some road closures on Church Street.
The City of Huntsville is kicking off road improvements between Clinton and Williams avenues next week, running through the summer. The work will add a tree-lined median, a new crosswalk, and upgraded sidewalks to better link the east and west sides of the park.
Rotating lane closures begin Tuesday, May 26. Crews aim to wrap by mid-August, so plan a little extra time or take an alternate route when you can.
