Huntsville is growing like never before and is now the 100th largest city in the country.
With a population sitting at 233,627 residents, Huntsville continues to attract new neighbors, new businesses, and new opportunities every year. And with the addition of Space Command, that number is only going to get higher.
For those curious, McKinney, TX is the 99th largest with 236,001 and Cape Coral, FL is the 98th largest with 236,264. You can see the full list here.
🏫 New Huntsville Middle School Breaks Ground
Construction has officially begun on a brand-new Huntsville Middle School campus, designed to give students a more modern, collaborative space to learn and grow.
The 125,000 square-foot facility is being built on 15.71 acres and is expected to open in August 2028.
Once complete, the school will expand to include sixth grade, creating a smoother transition for students as they move toward high school.
💰 Huntsville Sports Tourism Hits $62 Million in 2025
Huntsville’s local sports scene is alive and well. In 2025 alone, sports events brought in over $62 million for the local economy, drawing thousands of athletes, families, and fans to the Rocket City.
Last year, the city hosted events like the Rocket City Marathon, Conference USA Basketball Championships, the AHSAA Soccer Championships, and more.
This is likely just the tip of the iceberg. What sporting events should the city bring to town next?
