South Huntsville's biggest development just leveled up. Stadium Commons has officially moved into Phase 2 of construction, the next big step in turning the 18-acre site next to John Hunt Park into the city's newest mixed-use destination.

Phase 1 already brought Hattie B's Hot Chicken, Free People, Ferren Boutique, and VSL Nail Spa to the South Parkway corner. Still on deck for later this year: Juniper's Kitchen and a 145-room Hyatt Place Hotel, with a dual-branded Hilton rising right next door.

Phase 2 keeps the momentum going. Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate says the project will eventually top 200,000 square feet of shops, restaurants, hotels, and gathering spaces when everything wraps up.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams just announced its arrival in Huntsville, with plans to open its first local shop downtown at Clinton Row later this year.

The shop will land at 114 Clinton Ave E (next to Honest Coffee), becoming Jeni's third Alabama location. Expect their signature buttercream flavors like Brambleberry Crisp, Salty Caramel, and Brown Butter Almond Brittle.

An opening date hasn't dropped yet, but here’s a sneak peek at some flavors!

Huntsville's Ice Sports Center expansion is making serious progress. The recent construction update shows new walls, steel, and groundwork on both the arena and curling additions are pushing the project closer to opening day.

When complete, the expansion will add a brand-new arena and curling facility, opening up more ice time, leagues, and programs for hockey, figure skating, curling, and public skate sessions.

Crews are targeting a December 2026 opening for the arena, with curling set to follow in February 2027. Here’s a sneak peek of the rink installation!

On Make Music Day Huntsville, anyone can claim a 15-minute set. There are no auditions and no tickets.

From a back porch to a sidewalk to a parking lot, any public space can become a venue, and every age, genre, and skill level is welcome to play or watch. Want to play, host, or just listen? Sign up by June 19.

One of Huntsville’s most unique summer concert experiences returns on June 20 at Three Caves!

Concert at Three Caves presented by First Horizon Bank takes place inside a former limestone quarry nestled at the base of Monte Sano Nature Preserve.

Enjoy live music from the Matt Prater Band and The Alabama Heathens, grab dinner from local food trucks, and spend the evening surrounded by incredible scenery and live entertainment.
