Goodbye April and hello May! Summer break is just around the corner and I hope everyone is prepared!

One of Huntsville’s most historic neighborhoods will come alive with sound this Saturday as PorchFest transforms the Five Points District into a vibrant, open-air music venue.

Stretching along Pratt Avenue, you’re invited to dance down the sidewalks, and enjoy live performances hosted right on front porches.

The free community festival encourages attendees to support musicians through tips, merch sales, and by simply showing up. If you still feel like giving, organizers are also raising money for local music programs to help the next generation of Rocket City Rockers!

You can expect to catch several local favorites like The Shane Davis Group, Pearl Jones, and The Beastie Goys. Food trucks and local businesses will also join in, adding to the neighborhood-wide experience.

Everything kicks off Saturday at 2 PM!

Tollgate Greenway is officially open on Monte Sano!

The 1.2-mile paved trail connects the Bankhead Trailhead to Old Bankhead Parkway, offering a scenic and accessible route for both pedestrians and cyclists. Designed to expand access to nature, the greenway provides a smoother alternative to traditional dirt trails, making the mountain’s beauty more inclusive for all age levels.

The project was made possible through a collaboration between the Land Trust of North Alabama, the City of Huntsville, and hundreds of community donors.

Earlier this week, Bravo! announced that it would be closing it’s doors at Bridge Street. But we didn’t have to wait long to find out the North Italia will take over the former Bravo! location!

Known for its made-from-scratch dishes and welcoming atmosphere, its opening will mark the restaurant’s second Alabama location. Owned by The Cheesecake Factory, the restaurant brings a menu filled with handcrafted pastas, pizzas, and a curated selection of wines and cocktails.

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, you can check out the menu here!

Space Command has officially opened its first facility on Redstone Arsenal.

This temporary office will focus on critical intelligence for Space Command as work on the agency’s new headquarters ramps up on the arsenal.

By the end of the year, over 200 employees will work on Redstone Arsenal. And when the permanent HQ is built, there will around 1,800 Space Command employees in Huntsville!
