Registration is officially open for the 2026 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run!

Organizers are expecting over 6,500 runners, walkers, and breast cancer survivors downtown this fall.

New to town? Here's a quick backstory. Longtime WAFF 48 anchor Liz Hurley started the run in 1999 after her own battle with breast cancer. It's raised over $8.4 million since. That money funds breast cancer diagnostics and support at Huntsville Hospital and Madison Hospital.

Race day is Saturday, October 17. The Survivors' Walk kicks off at 8 AM, followed by the 5K at 8:30. Early registration is $25 through August 31.

Rocket City Tesla owners just got some good news. Tesla is bringing a service center to Huntsville in 2027, giving North Alabama drivers a local option for repairs and maintenance instead of the two-hour trek down to Birmingham.

The new location will land at 3100 University Dr NW (between Sparkman and Pulaski Pike) and will be just the second Tesla service center in the state. Until now, Birmingham's center off US-280 has been the only option in Alabama for owners needing more than a Supercharger stop.

No exact opening date yet, but we will keep you posted!
