⚓ Huntsville Navy Week

Navy Week is coming to Huntsville for the first time, plus Flying Biscuit Cafe opens next week, and a new Tex-Mex spot!

Happy Good Friday!

We’ve made it to Easter weekend, and spring is in full swing. If you’re still working on your Easter plans and are looking for a church to attend, I’d love to invite you to RiverTree Church. They have locations in Downtown Huntsville and Hampton Cove.

Congrats to Missy B. and Doretta G. on winning our Peter Pan ticket giveaway. Thanks again to Broadway Theatre League for providing the tickets!

Before we get into it, I wanted to take a second to ask for some feedback. I’d like to know, how can I make this newsletter even better? Will you take a second to answer a one-question survey?

It’s hard to believe that I sent out the first newsletter on April 26, 2024, and since then, we’ve grown to a community of over 12,000 subscribers. I’m so grateful that so many people take the time to read these every single week!

Alrighty, let’s get to it!

👨‍🚀 Blast Off

Huntsville Navy Week

Navy Week is coming to Huntsville for the very first time! From April 21 to 27, more than 50 sailors will visit the city to share their stories, help out in the community, and celebrate the Navy’s 250th birthday.

Throughout the week, sailors will stop by schools, team up with local nonprofits, and appear at events across town. There will be fun for all ages during Navy Week, including a special ceremony at the Space and Rocket Center to kick off the event on April 21.

You can also catch Navy Band concerts at Stovehouse and Lowe Mill, and at Military Night at the Trash Pandas.

You’ll also find sailors helping out at places like Manna House, Habitat for Humanity, and Burritt on the Mountain. The Navy will take part in Earth Day cleanups, Panoply weekend, and even an Arbor Day 5K.

Huntsville is one of just 15 cities chosen for Navy Week 2025. It’s a special chance to meet sailors face-to-face, hear their stories, and learn more about what they do for our country.

More info about Navy Week and a full schedule of events can be found here.
