🚶 Greenway Expansion Adds 4.6 Miles of New Trails
A smaller highlight from the meeting was the approval of two greenway expansions totaling 4.6 miles, both supported by Transportation Alternatives Program grants, which will cover roughly 80 percent of project costs.
The Bailey Cove Multi-Use Path, a $1 million project spanning 2.4 miles, will close a long-standing gap in the Aldridge Creek Greenway caused by a private golf course. The path will run along Bailey Cove Road to the Four Mile Post shopping area before reconnecting at Jones Farm Park. Intersection upgrades are also planned.

Council members also approved Miller Branch Greenway Phase 2, another $1 million investment that will extend the west Huntsville trail network near the airport.
