Taking Flight
đźš— Road Closures For South Star
The Huntsville Police Department is blocking off a few roads this weekend to accommodate the South Star traffic.
Jaycee Way and part of Steve Hettinger Drive will be closed through Tuesday, October 1, at 6 PM, along with Leeman Ferry Road to provide a pedestrian walkway from Drake Avenue to Island Circle.
If possible, it’d be best to avoid that area this weekend if you’re not attending the festival!
🏥 Free Health and Wellness Festival
There will be a free Health and Wellness Festival this Saturday at Calhoun Community College from 10 AM through 1 PM.
The free event will provide essential health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, HIV, depression, and more.
There will also be a Walk for Healthy Living from 8:30 AM to noon, encouraging participants of all ages to stay active and take steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
🤪 World’s Largest Trampoline Park
Funbox is bringing a 25,000-square-foot trampoline park to Toyota Field, and it opens this weekend (weather-dependent)!
If you can’t make it this weekend, don’t worry. The trampoline park will be in town through November 3. You can pre-purchase tickets for $18 or get them at the gate for $22.
🛹 The Oververt Challenge Skate Jam
Huntsville’s Get-A-Way Skatepark will host a free Skate Jam on October 6 with cash and prize giveaways. After the contest, there will be a free skate clinic led by USA Olympians Bryce Wettstein and Jordyn Barratt.
