Burritt on the Mountain is raising $70,000 to celebrate its 70th Anniversary. The funds will be used to fix all 36 windows in Dr. William Burritt’s 1938 mansion.

Burritt on the Mountain's museum was founded in 1955 and is the oldest in Huntsville. CEO Melanie Thornton says the goal is to honor North Alabama’s past and protect an important part of history.

The museum hosts over 150 school field trips each year. In addition to the mansion, the site includes cabins, scenic trails, and a barnyard with animals like goats, chickens, and a pig named Sweetie Pie.
