The City Council is back from the break and had a very busy meeting!

Welcome to another special edition of Huntsville Explorer! The City Council was back in session this week after taking a break for the holidays and it was a busy meeting!

Here’s a quick overview of what was covered:

  • Recognition honoring Lt. Colonel Jonathan David Shultz

❤️ Lt. Colonel Jonathan David Shultz Honored

To open the meeting, Huntsville City Council honored Lt. Colonel Jonathan David Shultz (USAF, Ret.) for a lifetime of military service, leadership, and impact on the Huntsville community.

Shultz served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and Alabama Air National Guard, flying more than 2,400 hours and completing over 100 combat missions. After retiring, he continued serving the community through work in Huntsville’s defense and aerospace sector.

Council members also recognized his devotion to family and faith, along with his decision to participate in brain cancer research before his passing.
