🎭 Hattie Mack Wesson Day

City Council proclaimed January 22, 2026 as Hattie Mack Wesson Day, honoring 12-year-old Huntsville native Hattie Mack Wesson for her accomplishments as an actor, singer, and dancer.

She has performed the principal role of Brita von Trapp in the North Alabama AEA Broadway tour production of The Sound of Music and has toured internationally across China, Canada, and the United States.

Mayor Battle praised how she represents Huntsville's spirit of innovation and artistic excellence. You can catch The Sound of Music at the VBC starting this Tuesday.

⚡ Huntsville Utilities Presents Major Infrastructure Modernization Plan

The longest portion of the meeting was a comprehensive presentation from Huntsville Utilities on their plan to modernize the city's electric infrastructure while keeping costs low.

Their plan focused on four critical areas that could save ratepayers considerable money over the long term.
