đ§ Big Changes Coming to MidCity This Fall
If you drive, walk, or bike through MidCity, youâll soon notice some pretty big changes in the area. Starting in November, the City of Huntsville will begin a year-long project to make Old Monrovia Road safer, more attractive, and easier for everyone to use.
Hereâs what you can expect, the current five-lane road will be reduced to three lanes, slowing traffic and making crossings less stressful. A new 12-foot-wide multi-use path will be added so you can enjoy walking, running, or biking through the area. The project also includes updated street lighting and fresh landscaping, giving the corridor a more welcoming look and feel.
The city plans to keep one lane open in each direction throughout construction, so while there may be some slowdowns, youâll still be able to get where you need to go. Construction kicks off in November.
