$18.5 Million Recreation Center Coming to John Hunt Park
The City has announced plans to build an $18.5 million recreation center at John Hunt Park. The main feature of the new facility will be twenty-five pickleball courts.
“When we started planning for the new recreation center, we knew that pickleball had to be a central feature,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle.
The 60,580-square-foot building will also include four full-size gymnasiums with basketball and volleyball courts, and a fitness room.
Construction for the 60,580-square-foot recreation center is expected to start in the fall, but a completion date has not been announced yet.
