Happy Friday!
It’s hard to believe that March has come and gone! Where did the time go?
Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway for the candle-making date night class at Studio 11. Congrats to Sabrina S. on winning the tickets.
On another note, I’ve been busy putting together an April event calendar for our Premium Explorers, and there’s a lot of fun stuff coming up.
Spring Market on Gates at Constitution Hall
Titanic Maiden Voyage Dinner at Burritt
Pup Palooza at The Orion
Just to name a few.
I’ll be sending the calendar to our Premium Explorers on Sunday. It’s a great way to plan ahead.

Alrighty, let’s get to it!

🖼️ Ditto Landing Venue Project Moves Forward
City officials have provided an update on the new event venue coming to Ditto Landing.
Madison County Commissioner Phil Riddick said they received final project bids on Thursday. The plan will turn the old State Docks building into a venue for concerts, weddings, and big events.
A smaller second building will also be added, with space for a restaurant. "Hopefully we can attract a good restaurateur down there to go and have a nice meal on the river,” Riddick said.
The original budget was $10 million, but the bids came in between $13 million and $14 million. Officials are looking at the design to see where they can lower costs before moving forward.
If the County Commission approves the plan on April 23, the project should be finished by October 2026. Construction could start as early as June 2025.
When it's done, Ditto Landing will have a beautiful new spot for both locals and visitors to enjoy events by the Tennessee River.

🌕 Moon Tree Planted at Monte Sano State Park
A piece of space history is growing in Monte Sano State Park! Leaders from Alabama State Parks, the Von Braun Society, and NASA gathered Thursday to celebrate the planting of a special Moon Tree.
This loblolly pine grew from seeds that traveled around the moon on the Artemis I mission. The tree stands near the John Scoble Memorial Pavilion and is the first Moon Tree ever given to an astronomical society.
Next time you're at the park, be sure to stop by and take a photo!
