🚀 Taking Flight

🚂 The Future of the Huntsville Depot

The City of Huntsville is asking for your input as it plans the future of the historic Huntsville Depot and its surrounding 7-acre property downtown.

From park space and recreation facilities to restaurants and retail, several ideas are on the table, and now the city wants to hear yours. City leaders are asking you to take a quick online survey to share your input.

Survey results will be shared at two upcoming public input sessions (July 15 and 16), both at the Roundhouse on Monroe Street.

While the depot’s historic structures will be preserved, the city is exploring creative new uses, like event spaces, restaurants, and more.

 Amélie Reopens as Coffee Shop

The beloved Amélie Wine Bar & Bistro in Hampton Cove has officially rebranded and reopened as Amélie Coffee.

Now serving up fresh-baked pastries and expertly roasted coffee, the cozy spot is welcoming early risers and remote workers alike. Stop in any day for croissants, brioche cinnamon rolls, and bold brews.

It’s the same relaxed atmosphere you loved, just with more caffeine and less cabernet. Feel free to check out the menu before you stop by.

⛸️ Major Expansion Coming to Huntsville Ice Sports Center

Big news for North Alabama’s ice sports fans: The Huntsville City Council has approved a $44.6 million expansion of the Huntsville Ice Sports Center.

The upgrade will more than double the facility’s size, adding a second sheet of ice with five dedicated curling lanes, new locker rooms, concessions, ADA-friendly improvements, and a new arena seating over 1,200 spectators.

Construction begins soon, with completion expected in late 2026 or early 2027. You can see some design renderings here.
