Happy Friday!
I’ve got some great news for you… the weekend is only a few hours away. You’ve got this!
It’s been a pretty crazy week in my house, and I am looking forward to a much needed break this weekend!
Let’s get to it!

👨🚀 Blast Off
🚧 Homes Avenue Is Getting A $30 Million Makeover
City leaders are moving forward with a project to make a busy part of Huntsville easier on the eyes and safer.
Crews are on track to break ground on major changes to Holmes Avenue sometime next year. The project focuses on providing more ways to move through the area between Spragins Avenue to Sparkman Drive.
Plans call for new sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping, decorative lighting, and additional street amenities. The goal is to make the route more comfortable whether you’re walking, biking, catching a bus or driving.
Funding for the project includes a $21.6 million federal grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation Safe Streets for All program, along with $9 million from the city. Design work will take place over the next few years, with construction expected to begin around 2027 and wrap up by 2030.
While you wait, here are a few design mockups.

🎨 Huntsville Museum of Art Free Admission Day This Sunday
Looking for a fun and inspiring way to spend part of your weekend? The Huntsville Museum of Art is celebrating their new exhibit for Youth Art Month by inviting the community in for a Free Admission Day this Sunday!
Bring the whole family and walk the halls of the museum without spending a dime from 12 to 5 PM and celebrate the talents of North Alabama’s young artists whose works are on display.
There will also be artist demonstrations from 1-3 PM where you can learn about a variety of different art techniques, including puppetry, ceramics, drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting!
🌿 Land Trust Secures 65 Acres on Green Mountain
The Land Trust of North Alabama just secured 65 acres of land on Green Mountain, ensuring the property will remain protected for years to come.
The newly conserved land sits just north of Camelot Drive and connects directly to Blevins Gap Nature Preserve. Community support played a major role in making the purchase possible, with donors raising $300,000 in 2025 to fund the acquisition.
The effort also moves the Land Trust closer to its long-term River to Gap vision, a continuous stretch of protected land connecting the Tennessee River to Blevins Gap.
👢 The Bootmobile Is Rolling Into Town
A giant boot is about to roll through the Rocket City, yes, you read that right!
Outdoor giant L.L.Bean is sending its famous Bootmobile to town (check out this bad boy) on March 28 as part of the celebration leading up to the company’s first Alabama store.
Huntsville’s L.L. Bean Store is opening at Bridge Street on April 3, and the Bootmobile will make surprise appearances around the Huntsville area, giving you the chance to snap photos and get a preview of what’s coming before the store opens.
If you don’t want to risk missing it, the Bootmobile will be at Toyota Field during the Trash Pandas game on April 4!
