Spooky season is officially here, and fall break is only a few hours away!
To celebrate, I thought itād be fun to let the community vote on the location of the first puzzle in our Huntsville Explorer puzzle series!
These were the top suggestions from a few newsletters ago. Vote on your favorite and then Iāll team up with a local artist to bring it to life!

š Madison Street Festival Takes Over Downtown This Saturday
The Madison Street Festival returns to historic Downtown Madison this Saturday, October 4, promising a full day of family-friendly fun and entertainment!
The event kicks off with a morning parade featuring colorful floats, local organizations, and community groups. Visitors can explore themed areas, including Artist Alley, Crafters Cove, the Childrenās Area, and a Teen Zone.
Live music and performances will take place throughout the day, along with student showcases and cultural exhibits that highlight Madisonās creativity and community spirit.
Food vendors and nonprofit booths will line the streets, while a convenient shuttle system will help guests navigate parking and access festival grounds. Organized by a volunteer-run nonprofit, the Madison Street Festival raises funds to support local educational programs and student opportunities across all ages and abilities. Guests are encouraged to fill a bag full of school supplies to help "Stuff the Bus."
This is a free event for the community. The parade will kick off the fun at 9 AM on Skate Park Drive. A festival map and more info can be found here.

š Jim āN Nicks Opens in Jones Valley
After months of anticipation, Jim āN Nicks has officially opened its new location in Jones Valley at 2001 Cecil Ashburn Drive.
This is the 3rd location in the Huntsville area. If youāve never been before, they serve slow-smoked BBQ and the best cheddar biscuits youāve ever had! Hereās the menu if you want to check it out before you go.
The location celebrated its grand opening with a $2,500 donation to Free2Teach, which provides free school supplies to educators in North Alabama!
š® Fuego Set To Open This Month
Fuego, Huntsvilleās newest Mexican restaurant, has announced that it will be officially opening its doors on October 6!
The first week (October 6-12) will be their soft opening and will only serve brunch & lunch from 10 AM-3 PM. Starting October 13, they will be open for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Fuego will serve āauthentic and boldā Mexican food and will be located next to Big Rosies, just off University Drive (1105 Wayne Rd).
š· The Bottle Closes After 12 Years
After 12 years, The Bottle has officially closed its doors in Downtown Huntsville.
Known for Chef Andy Howeryās menus and legendary wine dinners, it became a popular spot for date nights and celebrations. āWhat made The Bottle special wasnāt just the food and wine ā it was you,ā reads the Instagram post announcing the closure.
